Car Window Tint - How To remove It
You might have been thinking of removing your car window tint. But, it really takes more time to remove the window tint of your car than the applying it. So, if you have planned to remove the window tint then make sure that you have got enough time for this. It needs some extra works than merely stripping out the old window tint away. It will stick on the window tightly if the proper processes had been employed while applying the tint. Ensure that you've got all the stuffs which are needed while removing the window tint of your car.
This process needs proper amount of heat; therefore, it is good to work on removing the tint on a sunny day. It will really upset you if the tint has enough grasp on the window surface. Generally, the car window tint comes with two layers, one layer can be removed easily but the other layer can be really challenging. You should go for the idea of removing the both layers simultaneously otherwise you will be stuck in removing the layers separately which can take hours to work on it. It's essential to note that the back window tint will be stuck on the defrost linings. You should keep in mind about that otherwise those lines might get damaged.
Remove the obstructions if there is any around the window such as, speakers or any stuff like this. They will only make you trouble while working and it will take more time and also difficulty. You will need a garbage bag in this process. You should cut the garbage bag with an enough size which can cover all the area of window. Spray water on the window surface and lay the garbage bag over it. After this you are going to need Ammonia that must be sprayed on the inner surface of the window. Proper care must be done while using Ammonia. Breathing Ammonia can cause harmful effects. After spraying, put the plastic on it which will check the evaporation and leave the car in the sunlight.
This will loosen up the glue of car window tint and it will become easy to work on it. After an hour of proper sunlight the tint will become easy to peel. Without taking off the bag use razor blade to peel off the tint and do it very carefully starting from the edge. Clean the window right after you peeled off the tint. You can use Ammonia and fine steel wool for removing the adhesiveness. Generally, Ammonia will be required for working out on the back windows since side windows often are easier for this process.
After the whole process you should do proper cleaning to wash away Ammonia. Now go for good window cleaner like Windex. Removing car window tint is a long process and it takes hours so you must have patience if this is your first time.
